Semester Program

Semester programs last 12 weeks and coincide with semester schedules at U.S. universities. The fall program runs from the first week of September until mid December. The spring program runs from the the end of January until mid- April.
Semester students will have 25+ independent travel days to explore the rest of Italy and Europe, including a weeklong travel break and 2 extended travel weekends. In addition, CIMBA provides cultural immersion activities throughout the week, including company tours, gourmet dinners, and pizza making. More information

Students take 12-18 credit hours while attending CIMBA. Classes are delivered in English and are designed to be international in flavor and to satisfy core or elective requirements in business education. The program is accredited by the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business (AACSB). Courses are listed on the Courses tab to your left or can be found on the CIMBA website!

Summer Program

The summer program lasts 4 weeks and students take 2 classes for 6 credit hours. More details are available on the program website www.cimbaitaly.com
Students select 2 courses, 6 units of coursework. Classes are delivered in English and are designed to be international in flavor and to satisfy core or elective requirements in business education. The program is accredited by the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business (AACSB). Courses are listed on the Courses tab to your left or can be found on the CIMBA website!

All students read the following:

Many, but not all, courses offered at CIMBA will transfer to VT. Make sure, by completing the paperwork before you go. All Virginia Tech prerequisites must be satisfied for any course taken at CIMBA. Courses are offered subject to demand. CIMBA tries to offer the core business courses every semester but actual course offerings will vary from semester to semester. The following list includes summer and full-semester courses.

All Virginia Tech students must complete an Application To Take Courses Elsewhere form which is available online or in 1046 Pamplin. This will let you transfer courses from CIMBA to Virginia Tech.

You should talk to an academic adviser at Virginia Tech to make sure you can stay on schedule to graduate while studying abroad. With a little planning you can study at CIMBA and graduate on time. You can take several of the courses required for the Pamplin College of Business International Business Minor while at CIMBA.

Class offerings vary by semester. CIMBA tries to offer a core set of classes, but check the CIMBA website for the actual courses offered in the semester you want to attend.
