Croatia & Montenegro: Real estate development

Travel Dates: May 18 - 25, 2025

The purpose of this program is to familiarize students with the opportunities and challenges involved in developing, owning, and managing investment real estate in a dynamic market environment. Students will analyze the potential risks associated with investing in an emerging market, evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of real estate-based economic development strategies, assess the long-term stability and attractiveness of Croatia and Montenegro to real estate investors, and compare/contrast real estate development practices employed in the U.S.

Croatia and Montenegro provide an excellent opportunity for students to explore the opportunities and challenges involved in developing, owning, and managing investment real estate in a market rich with historical preservation and new capital opportunities.

Some visit locations include: Urban planning offices, Zagreb Cathedral, Zagreb school of business, Plitvce lakes national park, land development firms, Diocletian’s palace, luxury property management firms, Lovćen National Park, and more!

Student will receive 3 credtis of REAL 3954: Real estate study abroad
