Paris (May)

Paris – the City of Lights and the hotbed of the French business world – is the ideal location for this new study abroad program. Thanks to a new relationship with IESEG, a prestigious French business school with a campus located in the La Defense section of western Paris, this program will offer a week of business and cultural visits embedded in a Pamplin core course.

Students will complete Students will complete MGT 3304 Management Theory and Leadership Practices or MGT 3404 Principles of Management, during the regular spring semester. Just before the conclusion of the semester, students will depart for Paris, where their professor will be awaiting their arrival. Company visits will cover a range of French companies of different sizes, and group visits will be made to some of the main cultural icons of the city.

The office of international programs at IESEG, a prestigious French business school, will arrange housing at one of the apartment buildings regularly utilized for their summer programs.

Students who are registered for full-time coursework in the spring semester will not pay extra for the cost of the additional study abroad credit! It will already be included in their full-time spring tuition.

Tentative travel schedule

  • Students will travel on their own to arrive in Paris on May 16. Return flights to the US should be scheduled for May 23.

Program fees are $1650. A non-refundable deposit of $500 payable online, is due after acceptance into the program, with the balance of program fees due at a date to be determined.

Financial Aid and Scholarships:  Your financial aid eligibility can apply to this program. You must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the University Financial Aid Office.  In addition, you must submit the study abroad cost documentation form to the Global Education Office at the International Afffairs building, 526 Prices Fork Road, room 131.  The form can be found on the Global Education Financial Aid page.

Due to prepayment on items such as air and lodging, billing may not be in sync with financial aid payouts. Please be prepared to pay costs in advance, and be reimbursed with any payouts later.

There are up to 15 seats available for the program.  The application deadline is February 1

ELIGIBILITY

  • Freshmen through Seniors, and Graduate Students
  • Minimum GPA: 2.3 (We will use mid-term grades for freshmen to determine eligibility).
  • Non-business students and graduate students are also welcome to participate, and will receive 3 credits. 
  • Priority is given to business students.
