Stress Management Workshop 

Description: Dr. Caitlyn Thelen and Dr. Annie Clay lead a workshop on the Community Resiliency Model (CRM). CRM is a skills-based program that helps individuals and their communities manage stress and trauma by resetting the nervous system's balance. The workshop taught six wellness skills to promote self-awareness and resiliency, encouraging participants to share these skills with others to create trauma-informed and resilient communities.

Nutrition Workshop with Schiffert Health Center

Description: Registered Dietician, Nicole Woo, led an informative session surrounding the connection between nutrition and stress. Nicole specifically highlighted how to perform better in school by having a well-balanced, cost friendly diet. 

Global Connection Mixer: Networking as an International Student with Pamplin Career Services

Description: The Global Connection Mixer, coordinated by Pamplin International Programs & Career Services, was an evening of opportunity for international students eager to jumpstart their careers! Attendees arrived in their best professional dress, ready to network and connect over dinner. An amazing panel with special guests _______ offered invaluable insights, equipping students with the knowledge and strategies to confidently pursue careers after graduation.

Time Management Workshop with Newman Library 

Description: Sara K. Sweeney Bear, Project Design Studio Manager, and Studios Outreach Coordinator, hosted a Time Management and Mental Health workshop for our mentors and students. This workshop covered what makes a study environment conducive to learning, time management habits that can support academic success, and tools that can support time management and studying at home.

Professional Advice with AlphaSights and Pamplin Career Services 

Description: The International Programs Office collaborated with Pamplin Career Service to host a professional workshop where they invited a recruiter from Alpha Sights, based out of their New York office, who gave insight into their company and its services while giving advice that would benefit and be applicable to our international students. Additionally, they covered resume/interview tips, “How to Dress” in a professional setting, and then opened it up to an open-ended Q&A session.
