January-March 2026

The Global Mentor Program has had an exciting and dynamic spring semester! We welcomed a new group of study abroad students from Germany, Italy, Morocco, Korea, and beyond, bringing fresh perspectives and enriching our community in meaningful ways.
In February, we celebrated Lunar New Year - twice! Once with our XDU–VT joint degree program and again with our broader international student community. Both events were filled with culture, connection, and incredible food. Shortly after, we hosted an international potluck, where students shared delicious dishes representing cuisines from around the world.
Hannah Staats, the embedded counselor in Pamplin, led a speed networking event for our students and mentors. The format enabled our students to connect in a fun, casual way and work on their conversational skills.
March brought even more opportunities to connect and celebrate. We marked St. Patrick’s Day with lively Irish music, pizza, and plenty of green spirit. Most recently, we celebrated Holi in collaboration with the Indian Student Association. Students gathered at the Duck Pond for a vibrant color celebration, followed by a delicious meal.
As the semester picks up - with midterms, capstone projects, and post-graduation plans - we’re energized by everything we’ve accomplished and excited to finish the academic year stronger than ever, especially with warmer days ahead.
