GAV provides housing to students in both Sydney Australia, as well as the student’s chosen internship location.

Accommodations in Sydney are shared, air-conditioned apartments furnished with kitchen, living room, Wi-Fi internet, and on-site laundry facilities. Accommodations in other locations may be shared apartments OR hotels. Students will be housed with other students participating in the program, although they may be students from universities other than Virginia Tech. Students may also request roommates if they know other students that are also applying for the program.

For all study abroad programs, it is important to ensure that your passport is valid for at least 3 months past the end date of your program.

Please be prepared to secure a student visa once you have been accepted to the program. Residents of the U.S. will be required to obtain a student visa for a semester abroad, however students holding citizenship in other countries will need to check with their own embassies for guidance on regulations. Please note that Virginia Tech is unable to provide support for the visa application process as regulations are constantly changing. GAV will provide guidance on what student visas should be applied for. Students should refer directly to the appropriate consulate for the most up to date information.

For students wanting to participate in this program, all payments will be processed directly by GAV.
