Maureen Deisinger
Biography
Maureen Deisinger comes to the International Programs Office in Pamplin from the central Global Education Office here at Virginia Tech. As the assistant director for partnerships and affiliations, she worked most closely with Virginia Tech’s portfolio of student exchange agreements as well as its partnership with the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP).
Prior to her global education positions at VT, Maureen served as an academic adviser in the Virginia Tech Geography department with both geography and meteorology majors.
She also coordinated International Street Fair 2010 for the Cranwell International Center.
Prior to relocating to Virginia, Maureen was both a study abroad and an academic adviser at Iowa State University. She worked most closely with programs in Australia, New Zealand and Greece and was also involved in academic advising in the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication at ISU.
As a native of Kimberly, Wisconsin, Maureen completed a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Wisconsin-Steven’s Point and a Master’s Degree in Higher Education/Student Services from Iowa State University.
In her free time, she likes to cook, hike, hang with her cat, and socialize with friends.
