Asian countries and businesses are growing at an increased rate, and their importance in the global market cannot be ignored. This program is a wonderful opportunity for Virginia Tech students to learn about business and management in a different setting. It will also help develop global perspective and help students better prepare for jobs and future career.

Singapore is a popular tourist destination, it’s politically stable and ranked as the second safest city in the world. It is a hub of Asian business and has a blend of different cultures found across Asia. The school is located in the heart of the city, giving students ample opportunity to explore and try new experiences.

Students will study at Singapore Management University, a highly reputed university with accreditation from both AACSB and EQUIS. SMU is ranked by QS as 11th in the world for specialist universities, as well as 3rd for business school research. Ten percent of SMU undergraduate students are from outside of Singapore, so students will have the opportunity to interact and network with students from 25 different countries. The university emphasizes globalization, with their 40% of faculty representing 29 nations. The campus is located in the heart of the city center with a small enrollment of nearly 8000 undergraduate students, making for an excellent student-to-teacher- ratio.

No language skills are required as all courses are taught in English. Additionally, students will have no issue getting around Singapore as English is one of the four official languages of Singapore.

Eligible students must be at least a sophomore in Pamplin. Students should be aware of Policy 91 and be in compliance with the policy.
