How do global mentors serve?
- Serve as a resource and guide
- Help students adjust with both American and Academic life.
- Give mentees support on campus
- Provide a positive academic, professional, and social environment outside of the classroom.
When you become a Global Mentor
- Opportunity to work closely with International and Exchange students
- Coordinate social activities with mentees
- Work together with other mentors to help facilitate cultural activities.
Mentor Engagements and Benefits
- Conduct monthly check in with each mentee
- Attend mentor meetings, mentor training, and participate in program-wide events
- Serve a positive role model for incoming students and build close relationships with new students
- Engage in cultural exchange without leaving Blacksburg
- Gain experience, interpersonal skills, and professional leadership by being recognized as a student leader
